About Our Church
Round Oak Baptist Church feels like home, with lots of family! We are a Virginia
Baptist Church located in the northern end of Caroline County in Corbin, Virginia.
We do try to be very intentional about making everyone feel "at home" with us.
We welcome everyone to come worship with us and grow with us.
Services and Times:
We have two worship services with child care available at both. Our 8:30 am
service is our Contemporary Service with a Praise Band and a more relaxed feel
with coffee and come as you are dress. Our 11:00 am service is the more
traditional service with hymns and choir. Feel free to come dressed as you are
or wear your "church clothes."
Spiritual Growth:
Spiritual growth is important to us! On Sundays at 9:45am we have Sunday
Morning Bible Study (SMBS) to help grow our church body. We also have other
Bible study and fellowship groups that meet during the week. We desire to grow
the most spiritually mature church possible all through the year. We encourage
all members to maintain personal and family worship, Bible study, and to spend
time each day connecting with God in quiet time.
We have 2 full-time ministers on staff:

Dr. Randolph M. Newsome, Jr.
- Pastor Randy began his ministry as senior pastor at Round Oak on January
1, 1984. Pastor Randy is a graduate of Bluefield College and the
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastored two churches in
Indiana prior to accepting the call to Round Oak. He communicates the
gospel message in a down to earth, easy to understand, and very practical
way so that easy applications to life can be made. Aside from leading the
church family in worship, Randy provides pastoral care, counsel, wedding
planning, funeral services, and serves as our spiritual leader. Randy is
married to Beth, who brings her gifts and talents in music and worship
leadership as well as teaching. They have one daughter, Kristy, who
teaches in the Caroline Public School system.
Rev. Carson Riley
- Carson joined the ministry team at Round Oak on June 14, 2004. Carson
is a graduate of the University of Richmond and the Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary. Carson has oversight of the church's children's
and youth ministries. Carson has also taught courses at the
Fredericksburg Bible Institute and Seminary. Carson has recently married
his wife Dorraine and between the two of them have 4 adult children.
Dorraine is involved in our Praise Band, Choir, and Drama Ministry.
