Round Oak is involved in many opportunites for missions through our Food Ministry. Check them out!

 Telephone Ministry

We began our telephone ministry in 2005, recognizing there are many persons who are alone, elderly, in poor health or perhaps need someone to check on their well-being and provide a word of encouragement.

Currently 5 Care Callers call 18 persons on a weekly basis or another schedule set by the person receiving the call. If you, or someone you know, would like to receive a phone call please contact Nancy Kail. Persons to be called do not need to be church members.

4th Saturday Bingo

The Journey Sunday School Class has been conducting bingo games for the residents of the Bowling Green Nursing Home every 4th Saturday around 3:00 PM, but they are opening up this experience for anyone who would like to take part. There are usually 20-25 participants, and special prizes are awarded to bingo winners. See Lottie Wood or James Roche to join in the fun.

Reaching Others with Christian Kindness

ROBC ROCK!...is a community project that came from one of the 40 Days of Community host homes. This project includes creating packages for distribution to those that are homeless or have lost their home to fire, tornado, or some type of tragedy. Packages include scripture, tooth paste, tooth brush, dental floss, comb, lotion, shampoo, handy wipes, tissues, pad, pen, q-tips, candy, etc. Children packages are also planned to include crayons. The Red Cross helps place those displaced from their homes for overnight shelter and if available, will provide a package but not every family member receives one. The goal is to have a package for each person in need. Prepared packages will be on hand at the church. However if you would like to participate by carrying one in your car, please let us know. Cost for each package is about $5.00. Stay tuned for a tree containing items needed for preparing the packages or if you wish to sponsor a package, please use a special yellow offering envelope withthe title, "ROBC ROCK."

This is the theme of a project by Carol Thomas Horton for the Monday night Baptist History class. Soon you will see recycling bins and literature pop up around the church that remind us to take care of God's world. If you would like to help, please contact Carol.
